As I got only one response to my previous question, let me ask something
a little different. Is there a way to force the install of updates? In
my previous post I mentioned that, after restoring a Qube 2 with the
restore CD and trying to apply all the patches, I ran into a problem. I
was able to get through the Qube2-en-OSUpdate-4.0.pkg which got me to
Cobalt OS Release 4.0. Almost all of the patches after that said they
need the qube2-en-OSUpdate-4.0.pkg. The restored Qube2 now has the
following updates:
All-Kernel_mips Release 1.0
Cobalt OS Release 4.0
Qube2-All-Security Release 3.0.1-8061
Qube2-All-Security Release 4.0.1-9531
Qube2-All-Security Release 4.0.1-9648
Qube2-All-Security Release 4.0.2-8747
I can't install any more updates because they need Qube2-en-OSUpdate
Release 4.0 which IS NOT provided by the package on the Sun/Cobalt patch
site that is named appropriately, it actually updates the Qube to Cobalt
OS Release 4.0 from OS Release 3.
I need to force the remaining patches or find the patch that provides
the update or find some other work around. Any suggestions?
