The list was down over the weekend; my outgoing server notified me of 
undeliverables quite a bit.  There wasn't any sense in writing "is the 
list down" since it was, and the messages wouldn't get through <smile>.

It doesn't eliminate the need for a CMU backup and something else ready 
to go.

Why?  Because if your system is hacked, the hack will be rsynced to the 
second system as well.

If you don't need a 1u system you can get white box systems today for 
$200-$300.  Of course RaQ3s aren't much more.

There are lots of reasons to use tape, and lots of reasons not to; I'm 
sure you've read them all.  I prefer backups to hard drives as quicker 
to access.
