Only allowing port 80 on your firewall will deter all but the most tenacious
hackers and a hack would be very unlikely.
You will need other ports too, if you want to do other things like
administer the server from outside your network and run mail services and
ftp etc.
Every port you open up is another potential doorway for someone to slip
through given the time and inclination to do so.
some useful ports -
20 FTP
21 FTP
25 SMTP (blocked by some ISP's)
53 UDP (DNS)
80 WEB (blocked by some ISP's
81 GUI ADMIN
110 POP3
123 NTP Time Server Sync
Open only what you need!
I know the Qube2 is now quite old, but I like the little thing and for low
workload situations it is very good.
I have had one running our network DNS and DHCP for about 3 years now and it
has never given any trouble.
Welcome to the world of the little blue box!
Paul.
