Be very careful if the servers are already connected to the internet.
Many people have been hacked before applying all the required patches.
There are about 45 patches to install (at the last count) set aside a
LOOONNNGGG day!
Make sure you install the patches in the order on the page from the bottom
(oldest) up.
If you have taken on these servers then you should try and do an OS restore
if you have physical access, if not I would think your co-lo would restore
them to the 'out of the box' condition.
That way you know that there is nothing on them that might catch you out
later on.
If you do have access to the servers you can create a custom restore CD
which will install the patches up to date and will save you hours of time.
Search the archives for details.
