  The biggest problem is that when you misspell the server name in the
  settings - it creates the misspelled name as your first site - so
  you have the misspelling in (at least) two places. This is why even
  after I fixed the name in the server settings it was still trying to
  get to an unresolvable site after I went in by IP address. I eliminated the
  site and replaced it with a new one - and I will now start searching
  to see if the misspelling crept in someplace else.
