Yes, as DNS generally resolves a single IP to a single hostname. Having
multiple IPs listening for a single hostname is generally a short-term thing
while switching providers, etc.
That whole thing is a painful enough process, though, that some sort of
assistance via the UI would be nice to have (he says while jotting on a
todo/wish list)... :)

That would be nice, but if you try it, it won't work the way you need it to.
The host alias only makes "ServerAlias" entries in httpd.conf for each
virtual site. It doesn't set up interface aliases binding the new IP
address(es) to the existing eth0 interface. You'd need a separate UI for
managing the ethernet aliases.
