Hello,
While we are on a similar subject...
My colo is doing away with their services and I need to bring my machine
down.
I already set up another machine and moved all the sites.
All that I have left to do is the DNS.....But not sure what to do....
This is the setup....
ns.domain.net - Master - Colo A - 1st Name server - just running DNS - No
sites
ns2.domain.net - Slave - Colo B - 2nd Name server - Secondary DNS entries
facing master with sites
ns1.domain.net - Slave - Colo B - No Name server - Secondary DNS entries
facing master with sites using MYSQL
Colo A is doing away with Collocation so I need to bring this machine
down.....
What is the best way to switch ns.domain.net and ns1.domain.net
Also do I need to rename the machine from ns1.domain.net to ns.domain.net so
the Name server and machine name match...will this break anything?
Thanks in advance for any help
Regards,
Mitch
