So let's just ban sales ads, beta test calls and virtually
everything else. If I actually could apply a mail filter with
all the bits of the Meta-FAQ killing messages before I saw
them, I'd wonder if this List was even working. I might see
2-3 posts a month.

Hmmm, let's think on this one... So he uses an albeit
ingenious but not totally ethical marketing ploy to (essentially)
provide some final beta test copies for free to the List vs.
the General Public. But, at the same time, if he releases
and people then purchase this software and it's as crappy as
you describe, the backlash will ensure my inbox is intolerable
for weeks to come. Therefore - he's toast. Somehow I'm
missing the point of complaining about it on the List vs.
sending him a note directly...

AND NOW: I'd like to file a formal complaint about
the complainers. Someone starts threads of this nature and
they turn into week-long whining battles that take up more
bandwidth than someone being smart enough to simply send a
note to the Author and let them know how you feel. Then
there's the return banter (like this drivel I'm writing),
which sucks up more resources.

So, how about we ban anything even closely resembling
Spam, Commercial Advertising, Alpha and Beta Test Calls,
New Product Releases, update patches to Commercial Software
and any other posts where someone just likes to piss and
moan about these types of posts - wrong or right. Should
cut traffic down about 95%? Then 1-3 people will be
happy and the rest will be miserable.

I've personally kept up on this List after moving
from RaQ's to Ensim custom builds because of the useful
info that actually applies to most Linux boxes. If anyone
on this List can figure something out for a RaQ product,
it's guaranteed to be a solution or clue as to how to
do it anywhere else (non-MS). But useless traffic like
this makes me want to wander off into the completely
unsupported land of Ensim and cry in my beer.

	Thank You, and Goodnight.
