Hi Darren,
I've put both our Qubes on a shelf in our rack in the server room located in
our basement, so I never hear them.
And when I *DO* have to spent time in the server room, I never hear them.
Okay, thats maybe because the noise from our HP NetServer LH II server with
4 SCSI and 3 IDE disks and 2 tape drives just drown the noise of the 2
Qubes - I'm biased! :)
Regards,
James Nesbitt

Subject: [cobalt-users] Qube - please shut up!
Hi,
Just wondering whether anyone has any suggestions to quieten the Cobalt
Qube? I have a Qube in my home office and it is way too noisy. I think
the problem is the fan. I have taken the thing apart and it's actually
not the fan itself - it's just the noise of the air being sucked in I
think - that coupled with the case resonating, and probably transferring
the noise to the whole case (bit like a speaker?)........
Anyway, any suggestions gratefully received, otherwise I'm going to have
to find somewhere else to keep by Qube if I'm going to leave it going
24x7....
Thanks
Darren
