So you don't need to update the ROM manually ? Are you sure ? :)

If I would needed to which rom do I need to get for a Raq3 (I found the
link to the roms on www.cobaltfaqs.com there are 2 folders on this ftp
one for Raq 2/3/4 and Cubes and one for the Raq XTR so which one to get?)

What he is saying is, the 550 OSRCD has some ROM upgrades on it.
You would need to select the ROM upgrade for a XTR and then install the 550 software. 
Bruce, please correct me if I am incorrect.
