Well, I tried to create an account (figured it would be the best test of
everything) and that is when I get the 

"The Operation Failed. The Mail Alias, mail.test.com, could not be created."

I think what I am going to do is rebuild that last bad account I deleted.
Then, restore the back'd up corrupted "virtusertable" file  and then
re-delete the account we know is bad. Maybe that will bring things back to
life.. I hope! ;-(

What error messages are you getting?
Also, remember aliases are just the new variation of the user name, not
user@xxxxxxxxxxx Tom
