Hi all,
I'm looking for RAM upgrades for my Cobalt RaQ550 servers. I want to
make sure I am buying the correct RAM.
I went to Crucial.com first, as they are my preferred vendor for memory.
Ouch! They say a 512MB ECC PC133 chip for my RaQ 550 is $132.99. (Link:

I then went to Newegg. They have a piece of Crucial RAM for $40 less,
but it's not quite the same part (it says "unbuffered"). The page they
link to for the ECC SDRAM is this:

Note that Newegg is selling that RAM for $95. However, it's not the one
Crucial is recommending for the RaQ 550, and it does say "unbuffered",
so I am not sure if it will work.
Should I buy the cheaper RAM from Newegg, or should I go the safe route
and pay the extra $40 for the recommended memory from Crucial?
