Greetings,
Glad to see this List back up, wish it were
sooner in this case!
Attempting to install Mailman on one of our
RaQ4r's. So far, the installation looks clean
and it works - BUT - it's come down to a 'service
unavailable' interface problem between Sendmail
and it's smrsh watchdog and Mailman.
Still trying to completely kill the majordomo
install as well, but that's not relevant to the
present problems.
Used a guide posted last October, prior to
the pair (YES, 2 now) of Sendmail security issues.
I've installed both the Solarspeed patches, then
attempted to configure Mailman according to all
the documentation I could find.
Wrappers, restarts, reboots, check_perms,
you name it I've done it. Still comes down to
the one major issue of configuring the SMTP MTA
that Mailman can use and why smrsh has to lock the
place up.
Anyone who has ANY thoughts or experience on
this, it would be greatly appreciated if you could
fire away. Preferably off-list, this could get
dicey until resolved.
WHEN a resolution is in place, I'm going to
re-write the guide I used and include all the things
required to get it 100% operational and then post
that publicly.
Thanks!
