ARG! How'd I miss that? I had the $@#$%! drive on the wrong IDE controller!
The first couple debian tries didn't work because the boot_dev was for RAID.
I knew it was something stupid like this.
Booting from ROM works ok, but booting from disk gets stuck at "Second
stage kernel: Decompressing - done"
Sorry to waste your time, I feel like such a goon...
