Yeah, he told me about that, it was using a RAID parameter before, but I
changed all that, no luck. I tried using an 18GB drive instead of the 40
GB drive reduced to 32 GB by the jumper, same results as well. When I
updated the BIOS, it still booted the old HD containing the original
Cobalt install. Would've been smarter to keep those hard drives intact
and try the install first with a fresh drive. I just didn't think this
would be such a science project. The instructions were pretty cut and dry
and made it sound like a vanilla install of Debian with a custom kernel
vmlinux image gzipped and dropped in the /boot directory would be all it
took. I'm still hoping the NFS is a possibility, but my last post
regarding that is still waiting for a reply.

I installed Lilo into the MBR so I could boot up the Debian kernel
easilly, the instructions said that Cobalt ignores the MBR so this would
only serve as a convenience for booting while the disk was in the PC. I
guess I could try another install and not add Lilo, just use boot
floppies, do you think that would make a difference?
