If you had immediately shut down your system (by pulling the plug, not
with a shutdown command) you might have been able to move the drive to
another system and manually restored the files, though probably you
would have had to have a restoration company (specialist) work on it for
you.

But after even a few hours so much will have been written over those
deleted files the chances you could do it are quite unlikely.

If you haven't done anything dangerous yet, I'd strongly suggest you
rebuild using a new drive. If you have a CMU backup we can help you
restore the sites manually; or you can do it yourself. It'll be quite
time-consuming, but it should be doable.

If you don't have a CMU backup, then you should be able to find the
sites on the old drive; install it as a second drive, and mount and
explore it manually (again, we can help with this), and again, restore
manually.

We've done these kind of recoveries; let me know offlist if you're in
need of help.
