Thanks!!
That was a big help. I did as you suggested cd /home/spool/mail (the real
mail directory) and ran "mail -f <username>" but it didn't turn up any
errors. Is it possible it's something else? Even non-server related?
Any suggestions about emptying the mail box and re-populating it with the
messages that are in it now?
Jerry

Jerry,
Suggest you connect to this box (ssh/telnet) as root, then cd
/home/spool/mail (the real mail directory) and run "mail -f <username>"
where
<username> is this users email name. The "mail" program will tell you if
there is a problem with the mailbox itself (format, corruption, etc).
If the mailbox is corrupted, the easiest thing to do is empty it (>username)
and then try sending a test message to that account to see if that fixes the
problem.
I have had this happen on a couple of occassions, and each time after
"clearing" the mailbox, things started working again.
