Suggest you connect to this box (ssh/telnet) as root, then cd
/home/spool/mail (the real mail directory) and run "mail -f <username>" where
<username> is this users email name. The "mail" program will tell you if
there is a problem with the mailbox itself (format, corruption, etc).
If the mailbox is corrupted, the easiest thing to do is empty it (>username)
and then try sending a test message to that account to see if that fixes the
problem.
I have had this happen on a couple of occassions, and each time after
"clearing" the mailbox, things started working again.
