It's Batched SMTP, sometimes used with uucp to transmit e-mail, putting the
SMTP command in the output stream.

I just brought this topic up on the postfix mailing list since we've been
doing bsmtp/rsmtp using smail-3.2 for years, and I'm not sure how to make
it work with postfix.  Somebody posted a site, but I don't have the message
handy.  The file was bsmtp-1.02.tar.gz so a google search may find it.
