I've been trying and trying and trying to setup BSMTP on our RaQ 550.
Let me tell you what I configured.
DNS.
domain.net. in mx 50 mail2.domain.net.
domain.net. in mx 20 mail.domain.net.
mail in a XX.XX.XX.XX
mail2 in a xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
so dns based config is correct right?
Mailconfig on mail2.domain.net (the RaQ 550)
Relay Email From Hosts/Domains/IP Addresses (optional) entered the ip address of primary mailserver. (also tried domain.net)
mail2.domain.net (the cobalt) is also running vsite for www.domain.net.
when mail.domain.net is down the following error is received by the sender of the e-mail to someone@xxxxxxxxxx:
A configuration error in the e-mail system caused the message to bounce between two servers or to be forwarded between two recipients. Contact your administrator.
< mail2.domain.net #5.3.5 SMTP; 553 5.3.5 system config error>
if I enter the domain.net in /etc/mail/local-host-names the mail2 server will accept the mail and will try to deliver it into a local mailq wich is NOT what I want :'(
Does ne1 please have a solution for me? I am begging on my knees here :)
TIA
Robert
