- From the message you listed, it would appear that you've got a 
"--enable" with a space after it someplace... as listed, it appears 
to be the --enable-wddx=shared line.  It's listed on your message as:

- --enabled
- -wddx=shared

I have removed all the \ and removed curl and still get a error

--with-gettext=/usr --with-png-dir=/usr/lib --with-regex=system
--with-db  --with-mbstring --with-mbstr-enc-trans --with-ldap
--with-imap-ssl --with-mysql=/usr --with-interbase=shared
--with-pgsql=shared --with-pdflib=shared --enable-ftp --enable-safe-mode
--enable-trans-sid --enable-inline-optimization --enable-track-vars
--enable-mm=shared --enable-magic-quotes --enable-xml --disable-debug
--enable-wddx=shared

is my command, now the error is:

checking whether to enable truetype string function in GD... yes
configure: error: libjpeg.(a|so) not found.

Dunno, maybe reinstalling gd but I'm too new to this well lets try...
