I noticed a similar problem on a RaQ4-turned-550, I always had to
manually select "boot from disk" and then everything was fine.
If you can get back into the system, you can install an older ROM
version and put the RaQ 4 back to what it likes. You can get the
2.3.34 ROM IMG file at http://www.cobaltfaqs.com in the 'Downloads'
section... install it at the command line with the flashtool program
(from ftp://ftp-eng.cobalt.com/pub/users/thockin/) Then you should
be able to OSRestore with a RaQ 4 CD...
