'tis a shame, it's time-consuming and boring, and I hope to never have
to do it myself <wry grin>.

I believe I've mentioned problems with FPX and with DNS; we've had
problems with both (and fwiw, DNS has to be imported separately, since
the 550 doesn't use a records file).

I understood that, but I wrote what I did to correct the issue for
anyone reading the archives.

I said "a small project" for a reason <smile>. Yes, we'd have to check
to see if enough information was there, and then create our own system
to restore it... or worse, create a system for backup and restore.
Our experience with Plesk has taught us there's more than one way to
skin a cat <smile>.
I'd back up site space and user space and databases. What I'd like to
do is turn off email and databases for the short time-frame it took to
back them up, but because of the way the 550 stores email, turning off
email for a backup is probably too time-consuming. Most people who find
they need a backup understand the mail in it is fairly worthless, so
perhaps we could leave email turned on, and just turn off the
database(s) while doing the exports.
I'm not even saying I look forward to such a project, but it badly needs
doing. Anyone care to start a small group to work on it <smile>?
