Hope this helps, it should be close enough for you to get started.
Last spring I installed Amanda version 2.4.2p1 from source on a Qube3 Pro.
Trust me, from source is the best way. The TBU is a HP SureStore DAT24e,
model number C5653C #ABA attached to the Qube's built-in scsi. Which HP
model can be an important consideration, as I needed to return the
"non-unix" model.

The good news is that Amanda is relatively easy to compile and install. It
is also a very robust weok. I back up various versions of Solaris, SunOS,
linux, and windoze with it. Excellent support is available on
amanda-users@xxxxxxxxxxx You will need to build the client portion and
server/client on the tape host. gnutar is what was on the qube; use "tar
--help" to see what you have.

Good luck.
