In itself that still doesn't address the situation where files in those
directories on the source machine are deleted, modified or corrupted and
it's not discovered until after rsync mirrors to the destination server
(unless I'm missing something).  And that's exactly the situation I expect a
disaster recovery solution to handle.  rsync is a great tool - it's just
really a mirroring and file transfer tool, not a backup tool for dealing
with disaster recovery and therefore has the limitations I've mentioned.  On
the way to join the masses on the interstate...
