Right - I probably should have clarified that by "administers" I didn't mean
that the box admin has no input.  In my experience, most of the time the
upstream will set the reverse DNS to whatever hostname you specify, though
some will do as Dan says (which is less than ideal) or assign their own
hostname to it.
