Okay,
On other distros and other Mac, Window systems even Linux you can upgrade by
purchasing a new disk, or doing a special call, Debian for example will do
apt-get -fuy dist-upgrade and you have the latest OS and are humming right
along.
Why in the world are we expected to stay at a Raq3 level when we are now at
Raq550 level. As an owner of a Cobalt server I should be able to get updates
and upgrades to the newest distro, with out getting out a bunch of test
tools and soldering irons. IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE AN APPLIANCE.
So what about it. Does Sun just expect us to buy new machines each time
there is a new model?? The new model of course has a newer OS.
(I know we can do the Raq4 OSRCD to a 3 but this isn't a Cobalt option, just
us sneaky operators:)
