Hello All,
OK.. I tried a 4/4i restore disk this time on my 3i machine and came to the same results. My
blue-box will start from the net-bootup selection, and get through all the formatting of the hard
drive, etc., but then it halts again at this nfs test:
nfs: server not responding, still trying
nfs: server not responding, still trying
On the LCD panel it reads:
30001E 1.72
rpm 6/261 (0%)
It seems that when it tries to contact back to the DHCP Restore-Server that it
cannot connect back to it... I tried on both my NIC ports just to make sure one of my ports
wasn't blown also...
So... what confuses me is... , if it can connect at first and initiate the whole install process
from the DHCP Restore Server, why the NFS test fails...? I am using at "patch"/crossover cable
direct , machine to machine. This cable has the following printed on it:
Belkin Components Category 5e Patch Cable #RJ304 Verified (UL) CAT 5e 4PR 24AWG Type CM MP E129760
but at one end it has a lable taped to it saying "Cross-Over"....
So... any advice at this stage... I'm starting to go crazy with this whole thing!!!
So close but no cigar!
Thanks!,
Theo
