[cobalt-users] spamassassin still gives file :: spec 0.8 install error

I've just gone through this process lately (qube3). Best suggestion is to
do a google on +DNSBL +sendmail. Also, stating the obvious without flaming:
search using the word spam at
http://list.cobalt.com/mailman/listinfo/cobalt-users. I found Parker
Morse's instructions particularly helpful.

This is pretty much a repeat of my other messages, I think with the list being down and millions of messages coming in all at once it may have gotten lost in the shuffle, but, if anyone has words of wisdom for me, of course I will be forever grateful.

I followed this exactly to install spamassassin:
http://list.cobalt.com/pipermail/cobalt-users/2002-July/074325.html

I had gotten the error I reported the other day:
You need at least version 0.8 of the File :: Spec module!
        BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at ./Makefile.PL line 14.

I followed the directions to install version 0.8, but I still get the message above. This is what I did to install the version 0.8:

perl Makefile.PL
make
make test
make install

So now what do I have to do to make the spamassassin install believe I have installed version 0.8 of the file :: spec; do I need to restart something like when I did my httpd.conf changes? Same thing? Really, I'm great at following directions, I am familiar with my basic unix commands for many years, I just don't know a much about the true workings of these systems. Heck, I was working on XENIX in the mid 80's, but mostly the Willy Gates world since :)

Have a great day, it is Friday, the Newcastle is in the fridge (I know one list member likes to hear that)
