Actually your still in the same place. It just takes longer for things to
go wrong. /var and other things should be monitored. I run a Sun Cobalt
Control Station Specifically so I can watch what my customers are doing with
their partitions, load, memory, and other services... IE: I'm always
watching it and I get alerts to go check and or fix something. The result
is a server that is well maintained and monitored. The partitions don't
fill up because they are being watched. The Sun Cobalt Control Station is
very good at this.
You can read more about the Sun Cobalt Control Station at
http://www.zeffie.com/sun_cobalt_control_station_monitoring.html which has
the
current links to Sun too.
So increasing the size of the partitions only results in wasted space...
granted I would like an extra 200 meg and I think this sounds like a good
way to get it. Thanks for the idea.
