Ok normally you would install on any Cobalt product through the GUI
using a pkg file which includes some install scripts etc to do the
install. However that doesn't stop you from installing whatever you
want via the shell (I won't go into the warranty area here look in the
archives, I can never keep up if there is one or not and whether it
covers hardware or software or both)
so taking the file you have you need to ftp the file to the Qube which
will put into /home/users/admin/ now using SSH or if you must Telnet
connect to the Qube you should automatically be put in the same place as
you uploaded the file.
Now issue tar xvf mmsmtp.linux.intel.tar this will untar the file
(similar to unzip on a windows box) it will either untar and create
another directory or it will untar to the same directory. Okay that is
as far as I can go without knowing the software you will now need to
read the instructions and follow them.
If the software is downloadable as a trial let me know where and I can
look further - plus point I have heard it works on the Qube so keep
trying.
Hope this helps
Regards
Gavin
