limited by the operating system ... On Linux 2.2 you can get bigger
tables
than 2Gb by using the LFS patch for the ext2 file system.

So, yes you have reached your limit unless you want to tinker with
the LFS
patch or as Gerald suggestes earlier, upgrade your kernel to 2.4.x

I do not really want to be altering the standard system too much,
what I am looking at is the mysql raid option. Does anyone know whether the
mysql packages on the pkgmaster site are configured with the raid option?
