I want info on how to upgrade my version of apache to 1.30.26
on a raq4 .. and David Is looking to see if Sun/cobalt is making a patch for
us ?

Your getting a bit carried away here. Nothing says this was how the guy
got hacked.
If you read a bit, he was not running anything like ipchains, portsentry or
the like. If you are not using any security measures you will get hacked
pretty quickly.
