If you could do that then anyone could forge their domain name and spam
the 'net.  If you did it  you'd be listed in all the spam databases on
the 'net within a matter of weeks to months, and then neither you nor
your customers could send email at all.

We've installed and activated POP before SMTP (because I use it from
home), but we don't advertise the fact; instead we tell our customers
they should use their ISP for outgoing email.

This is pretty much the 'net standard these days; let the ISP deal with
the possibility of the client spamming, using too much bandwidth, etc.

Please let us know if you decide to create a mail server that can be
used for relaying.  So we can block email from you.
