Folks,
Just wanted to post a 'status report' (read: plea for help when someone
is so flummoxed s/he has no idea what to *ask*) of my flailings to install
a Lexmark Z23 to the Qube3's USB port.
1) Downloaded the LexmarkZ23 driver. Read README. Says it needs
enscript and ghostscript.
2) Found RPMs for enscript and ghostscript. enscript rpm -ivh'd nicely,
but ghostscript requires fonts (no surprise).
3) Found RPMs for ghostscript-fonts and urw-fonts. urwfonts rpm -ivh'd
nicely, but ghostscript-fonts required checkfontpath. I got fed
up and rpm --force -ivh'd ghostscript-fonts.
4) During 'sh lexmarkz33-x.y-z.sh', it complained it needed gtk.
(Note, the Z23 evidently is very close to the Z33 - the gztarball
name was suffixed Z23-33)
5) Found a gtk 1.2.10, but that required glibc2.2 and XFree86
6) Grabbed Cobalt-XFree86 from pkgmaster.com, but that required
Qube3-All-System-4.0.1-13761.pkg
7) Grabbed Qube3-All-System-4.0.1-13761.pkg, but my Qube said it was
obsoleted and refuesd to add it.
8) tar -xzvf'd Qube3-XFree86-1-16.pkg and rpm -ivh'd RPMS/Qube3-XFree86-1-16
9) rpm -ivh'd gtk-1.26-1
a) still can't print.
HELP!!!
