At 6:54 PM -0400 5/22/02, Paul Jacobs annoyed the list by typing:
> Dude,
That's Mister Summers to you - you haven't earned the right to address me
informally. I do, however, owe you thanks for repeating the procmail recipe
to drop your posts into the bit-bucket where they belong a few additional
times. One can never repeat important information like that often enough, I
agree. Perhaps you'll even consider using it to filter your own mail, so you
can avoid annoying yourself with your own missives?

As usual, Mr. Jacobs intentionally misinterprets to fit the narrow
worldview he is capable of forming, so I ask the list's indulgence while I
give this infortunate a lesson in how to properly research something on the
Internet. To be precise, what I said was, "Son of a gun...shoulda figured
Media3 would be involved somehow," never saying _anything_ about controlling
the C netblock. Unlike Mr. Jacobs, who apparently thinks everyone else is as
dimwitted as he, I _did_ thoroughly research it; no matter how hard he tries
to run away from this company's connection to Media3 (I would, too), at a
minimum they operate the nameservers for "Advanced Data Solutions/Advanced
Data Recovery," with which Mr. Jacobs is unquestionably linked, and so are
"involved." Although admittedly ARIN shows the netblock owned by
UUNet/Advanced Data Solutions, one only needs to look up adv-data.com to see
the obvious connection to Media3. To follow the thread of the research,
simply as instruction to teach him how it was done:

To single out one record, look it up with "!xxx", where xxx is the
handle, shown in parenthesis following the name, which comes first.

> If your going to flame get your facts right man.
Always, child. I never engage in a battle of wits unarmed, the way you
consistantly do. Oh, and if you think I'm flaming you, you are assigning
yourself _way_ too much importance. I only flame those I respect, and when I
do, they do not get back up without months in a burn unit. I am simply
correcting and dismissing you, and even that is more attention than you
warrant.

P.S. I'm done wasting time on this imbecile, and apologize to the rest of
the list for wasting the bandwidth. I can only hope the volunteer list
managers, who I'm certain have much more pressing things to take care of,
will unsubscribe this clown at their earliest opportunity to spare the rest
of us his nonsense. Enough is enough...make him go bother the Apple people
with his unnecessary and unintelligent drivel.
