Re: [cobalt-users] Repairing Perl?

Not that it really matters but, just in case anyone wants further
proof of how far off the handle I've flown:

Perl is installed in two places. /usr/bin/perl and /usr/bin/perlV
where V is the version. After breaking everything by running CPAN I
had /usr/bin/perl and /usr/bin/perl5.6.1 which were equivalent as well
as /usr/bin/perl5.00503. Copying /usr/bin/perl5.00503 to /usr/bin/perl
was enough to get back the web interfaces.

Off course I'm still back to square one and getting the perl modules
in place so I can run RT. Do I have to install them by hand, or is
there a way to get perl to use CPAN without trying to upgrade?

On the bright side I decided to see if I could restore from my tape
back up I made with amanda. I could -- it makes tar files, I have to
extract the backup for the mount point from the tape on my backup host
and ftp them back over to the RaQ. Won't get the acid test this time
though since I didn't completely eliminate the Perl file.

Of course getting myself in this much trouble with an "in production"
system is really getting me excited about the time when most of my
posts will properly be going to the developers list.
