Your "simple-to-implement alternative solution" leaves the information on the 
server unencrypted. I don't call that a solution. Granted it may keep it off 
the wire, but if someone gets to the mailbox or the server, "Your on the 6:00 
news".

You didn't offend me, there are so many post on this list, I attempt to read 
them all (daily, I might add). Post that are made several days after an 
incident, and particularly after the resolution of a problem are noise.
