OK, the registered memory seems to almost work. I added two 512MB SIMMS to
the existing two 256MB SIMMS.
Under Maintenance -> System Information I get:
Server Configuration Information
RAM 1520 MB
Hard Disk 342.6 GB
Cobalt OS 6.5.1
So this part of the GUI sees the RAM fully
But I get the following under Active Monitor Memory Status:
Total memory on the system is 647544 KB (1520 MB RAM, -880 MB Virtual)
Free available memory is 178244 KB
Used memory is 469300 KB which is 72 percent of the total memory
What I don't understand is the -880 MB Virtual statistic, and why the stats
are basically for 512MB if RAM.
If I pull out the original two 256 MB SIMMs, then I get the following
(server work just fine):
Total memory on the system is 647544 KB (1024 MB RAM, -368 MB Virtual)
Free available memory is 178244 KB
Used memory is 469300 KB which is 72 percent of the total memory
Any one running more than 512MB on your XTR and can tell me what the correct
version should look like?
Thanks,
Jim Cowing
