[cobalt-users] Raq4 Reboot/Boot Up Problem

Any one seen this problem before??


Curious problem rebooting after PKG files are installed and Okay is clicked
on for the required a reboot.

System then hangs at "Booting..." (displayed on the LCD)

All that can be done is power the unit down and back up.  Where it gets
really strange is that it still hangs when powered back up with the same
"Booting.." displayed on the LCD.

Two work a rounds that I've discovered are:

1.) Turn the power off to the unit. Then while holding the "S" button power
the unit back up.  The first time the LCD doesn't usually display anything
and no activity can be detected on any of the light on the front of the
unit.  Next I power the unit down again.. wait approximately 60 seconds and
power the unit back up with the "S" button held down.  This time I get the
Boot option on the LCD.  At this point I choose "Boot from ROM" and the
server boots up properly.

2.) The easier of the two options that seems to be working the best so far
is to not reboot the server when prompted and click on "Cancel".  Then from
the GUI choose "Reboot".  Again.. so far so good it has been working perfect
this way without any negative side effects.

Any one with any input or experience in seeing something similar please
share how you dealt with it and if there is something I need to be aware of
to correct this problem so it doesn't come back and haunt me after I forget
about it.
