This is how I always do it. Its not that I don't trust BlueLinQ or fear
getting a corrupted version from a cache farm somewhere in between its
really an issue of limited bandwidth.

What I do is set up a Mac or PC to ftp the update overnight then do local
updates when I can monitor the whole process. Also since I have 10 of them
its a bit silly downloading an update 10 times.

Although I hate the Windows "download updates and tell me when you have
them" process, it would be a valuable addition to BlueLinQ to be able to
stage an update ... Stage 1 is when BlueLinQ advises me that an update is
available. Stage 2 would be to initiate the download, and Stage 3 would be
to actually install it. There could be an extra BlueLinQ "preference" which
would control whether Stage 3 happened automatically after Stage 2 or if
manual intervention was required.

Cheers, Malcolm
