Don't use 7200rpm Drives in the Raq. They simply get too Hot.
I have personally used Drives as large as 80gb and they work. If I'm not
mistaken, I've read on the SUN support forum that the max drive size the can
be used on a Raq4/4i/4r is about 120gb. I have yet to try a drive larger
then the Maxtor 80gb Drive.

I have yet to have a drive failure, so I can't tell you what actually
happens. I believe it's automatic and a message appears in the GUI telling
you which drive is dead. I have noticed that if a Raq4r does a "Hard Power
Down", it will automatically rebuild the Mirror drive upon first power up.
"Hard Power Down = Simply unpluging the server"

Let us know what size hard drive you use if it's larger then an 80gb

Best of Luck!

>Yes, You are correct.

Additionally, what is the maximum size hard drives that can be used?
Which is better in terms of what the raq4 can handle, 7200 or 5400
rpm?

Also, exactly what happens when it is all set up and running and the
one of the drive fail? Does the mirrored drive just take over, or is
it a manual operation?
