If I was going to the Pomona Computer Fair today I could pick one up
under us$50. You need as many ports as you have computers plus one for
the "modem". The one for the "modem" should have an "uplink" button, to
switch between "uplink" and regular modes; most modem's I've seen need
the "uplink" mode.
D-Link makes some nice ones; I'd probably end up with a D-Link at the
Computer Fair. If you have a choice, you might consider that SMC
(makers of the Barricade) has 24/7 tech support with knowledgeable
people on duty at all hours.
