David, you asked your question as a reply to another thread. You stand
a much better chance of getting good timely replies if you begin a new
thread with a new question.
You don't have to have details of all the records to create a secondary
server; you only need to know the IP# of the primary server. Try
creating a "secondary" record in the gui and you'll see what I mean.

No, it's quite smart, in fact. it saves you money, and saves the other
hoster money as well. Lots of hosting companies do it that way.
