People have. It's usually the result of the server not being able to do a
reverse lookup of the IP you're dialing in from. Sometimes it's a network
problem, likely at the data center. Add your IP to /etc/hosts and if it's
the former it should take care of it.
And you've probably heard it already, but install SSH, use SSH protocol 2
only and disable telnet which is inherently insecure due to the fact it
sends data in plain text. SSH clients for the pc that support SSH2 include
putty (free) and securecrt (commercial, but does have a 30 day trial). See
