Kyle do you have any non Cobalt or pkg.nl.cobalt packages listed in your
installed software - there is a pkg installed by an isp in the UK that
splits the link between admin and root passwords thereby allowing them to
have root access and you only admin if its there then the only way is to
reset from the front panel. There might be similar methods used by other
ISP's as well - I doubt you can run the scripts Bruce refers to from the CLI
unless you have root access already hence hidden button. Once you have done
that you can then log in then SU to root and remove the pkg by typing
/var/lib/cobalt/uninstallers/name of package I think the pkg is
somename-UI-0.95
