You can direct your Mac to use any file as a hosts file; I assume it's a
standard format. In the TCP/IP control panel, make sure "User Mode" is set
to "Advanced," then you'll see a button on the upper right side of the
control panel which says, "Set Hosts File". Designate your Hosts file (which
you've created in SimpleText or BBEdit as above), and you're off and
running.
