I'm just guessing here as, while we have quite a few sub domains
setup here, I don't allow setups like this on our Cobalt's but I
believe the Cobalt way of doing things would break email for the
domain if you leave out the www when setting up a subdomin. The GUI
on our RAQ3s has two entries, host name and domain name. It seems a
reasonable assumption that if I set two sites up with the same
domain name the second instance will be viewed as a duplicate and
thus one will be prevented from setting that instance to receive
mail for the domain. If, however, I put the host name and the domain
name in the domain name field and stuff a www in the host name field
on the second instance (the subed domain) I think the scripting that
makes all the magic happen would see it as a seperate domain name
and thereby allow email handling to be set up on the site.
Again, I'm just guessing.
Peace be with you,
Brent Sims
