[cobalt-users] Issue with FP ON raq4

Hi,

I have just setup and am using Jeff's shell tools to add new users/sites etc. When I specify that a site should have FrontPage Ext using the -x option I end up with an error:

The FrontPage Server Extensions configuration tools are not available

- so went into gui and checked and am it getting there to(as you would expect :-). As this is a pretty new box and I dont yet have live customers - was hoping to switch it on this week - I was able to remove all the FP from all the sites - had 3 test ones up. I also went into /home/usr/local/frontpage (/home/usr/local is symbolic linked to /usr/local) and deleted a residual www.domain.tld:80.cnf file that was there.

I have checked and there are no blank lines in /etc/passwd - there did look to be a corrupted line in passwd-   deleted that (and the associated site) and then rebooted

Now one thing that I did do was to copy /usr/local to /home/usr/local and set up a symbolic link across. Now I wonder whether this could have caused it ? perhaps frontpage doesnt follow symbolic links and cant do the .cnf's ?etc 


any suggestion aprreciated - if I dont hear back soon will next try putting /usr/local back where it should be and try again
