I use Netscape 7.2 to write to this list, and I use my Cobalt RaQ4 as my
mailserver, and I've never been asked for a password to send email. Of
course I do have it set to save the password for my incoming email
server (both incoming and outgoing servers are the same RaQ) and to
check for email every five minutes. Might that have something to do
with my success? If so the workaround is to tell users to set Netscape
to save their password.
I DO have a problem with Eudora; if I tell it authentication is allowed,
it requires it.

They're now up to 6.2, which is actually quite good. I'm experimenting
with it on a W2k Pro box, and I'm probably going to switch to it for
much of my email soon.
